Just as many of you are, our staff at our CT Insurance Agency is watching the tropical storm coming our way very closely. After last years storm, we understand the importance of being prepared for the worst case scenarios when it comes to mother nature.
As of now, Scot Haney from Channel 3 Eyewitness News is predicting the storm to hit Connecticut head on. If this is the case, it is said that some could be without power for weeks. If that is the result, here are some reminders for preparedness prior to the storm hitting.
1. Stock up on food and water: although many of us know this, make sure to do this sooner rather than later. With the news predicting this storm headed towards us, the thought of stores running out of basic items isn’t so far fetched. Get prepared sooner rather than later.
2. Put away loose items in yards: Yet again, they are anticipating heavy rain and high winds. Putting away and locking down items ensures the safety for those outside as well as your home.
3. Candles, Batteries and First Aid Kits: Stock up on these basic items in the event we are without power for a longer duration of time than anticipated.
4.Fill up on Gas- If you can, consider filling up your gas tanks. Those who have generators will either fill up before or seek gas after and as we remember last year, gas was scarce.
Most importantly, know that we are here. Regardless of the weather and circumstance, our agency is known to make the proper arrangements to assist our clients under the worst case scenarios. We will keep you posted as to our game plan and how you can reach us should you need to.
